Today is the day I finally broke down and adopted Zoey a sister. I have been talking about Zoey needing a play mate for some time, and I did the online searches of local area shelters and rescues, and then a couple of weeks ago I found a picture of Maria on Petfinder.com.
Maria is a Boston terrier mixed with Aussie. It's an odd combination, but surprisingly Zoey and her look very similar. Maria has the standard brindle coat of a Boston terrier, and the oddly loose hair of an Aussie. Sadly this means she sheds a bit, but I think it will be warm enough to shave her down most of the time.
Her face is semi squashed like the terrier but she doesn't have a completely none existent snout. Her nose while not as long as most shepherds is still much more prominent then the Boston in her. She is actually a very pretty puppy.
She is even more of a ball dog then Zoey, and is definitely OCD when it comes to toys and playing fetch. But if you make all the toys disappear then she calms down and acts like a normal dog for the most part. She is somewhere between one and half year to two, and she weighs around 25 pounds.
So far there haven't been any issues between Zoey and our new addition. They seem to get along very well together and I get to use one of the those cool duel leash things when we go walking. I only need about six more dogs and a sled, then I can race up in the Klondike.
